Music is all about escaping reality, transporting yourself to another time and place. Some do it on the dancefloor, in a club or at a concert. Others do it on the sofa. There is no denying, 'Our Girl In Havana' wants to take you on a trip. Buscemi's Dirk Swartenbroekx might be physically located in Belgium, his influences are from South America. From Bossanova to Latin Jazz, he mixes it with Electronica, Drum'n'Bass, and House, making a warm, rhythmic sound. The end result is excellent music for the sofa surfer, but it's also perfectly at ease on the dancefloor. Although resembling Basement Jaxx on paper, this is less raw and hectic. The opening 'Spooky Samba' starts the trip with a voodoo dance enhanced with wild percussion, then returns home with 'My Suitor'. This last track is the only influence closer to his Belgian roots: a cover of Bernth–ler containing some velvet diva vocals. Hot'n'spicy, that is how Buscemi serves it up. The perfect dish for the summer.
