Australian stonerrockers Daredevil took off like the souped up Chevvy V8 their music sounds like: within
a year after their formation they had already done supports for Fu Manchu and Monster Magnet. Daredevil's
style is also comparable to Fu Manchu's: straight-forward, hi-octane midtempo groovers. Fortunately
singer Dave's a bit more talented than FM's Scot Hill though.
Good songs, solid playing, fat production: could we want more? A recognisable own style would be nice.
Daredevil doesn't imitate any band in particular, it is just that they sound like the archetypical
stonerrock band. If you'd want to give someone who'd never heard of the genre before an idea what it
sounds like, you'd let him hear 'Big Block Rock'. Where topbands like Monster Magnet and COC are
instantly recognisable, Daredevil is like the team playing solid and maybe somewhat colourless in the
middle of the table.
