Ok, this is what I call Old School. On the Smorgasbord Record label, Fury For Another present their self-titled debut album. It's fast and furious for all of its 25 minutes.
The band is full of raw crunching harmonies and tuneful energy. Some other positive things to mention are the superb small guitar solos and the way the three band members are backing each other up on vocals. A minor mishap is the not really original sound. When listening to this album it will probably remind you of the old songs of Suicidal Tendencies, especially 'Institutionalized'. They have this shrill sound with very fast vocals. But that's one of the features of a real skate-punk band. And that's what FFA is. Why else would they start with a song called 'Skate Anthem' and show some skate things on the cover art of the album?
All twelve songs on the album are written by Fury For Another themselves except for 'Instant Club Hit', which is a Dead Milkmen cover. Also a band that deserves a listening ear. But don't expect something like FFA. Despite the not very original sound, 'Fury For Another' is a really interesting album to listen to and to bother your neighbours with.
