The Leftöver Crack arise from the ashes of No Commercial Value and Choking Victims. Their sound covers the entire punk rock spectrum, from poppy ska punk in 'Crack City Rockers' to pure grindcore in 'With The Sickness'. Often more styles are used in one song, which makes 'Mediocre Generica' a very varied album. Unfortunately The Leftöver Crack often seem afraid to take their experimentation all the way: they leave it at an extended piano intro or hammond outro. When they do take it one step further it works out great: the furious 'Stop The Insanity' for example has a great break featuring handclaps. Lyricwise the band stays on the trodden punkrock path all the way, kicking against the government and religion. Because of its variation and solid, but not outstanding material 'Mediocre Generica' is way more interesting than your average skapunk or harcore album and a good choice for every punk who's looking for something new, but for whom Melt Banana is still a step too far. And it is certainly not what the album title promises.
