'Record in Red' is Marmoset's second full-length, but they have released some EPs and miscellaneous stuff as well. With 'Record in Red', Marmoset pose themself as a combination of Pavement and Joy Division. What does this mean? ONE: This is a lo-fi record, but not a badly recorded, sloppily constructed rock album. The Indianapolis band has the ability to write great songs. TWO: This is also a minimalistic record - in the songs as well as in the information in the CD booklet. THREE: This means acoustic guitar ditties and new wave classics are bound in one song. FOUR: This is how David Bowie would sound if he was into lo-fi nowadays. FIVE: You should get this record if you like the related artists mentioned.
