I don't mind the 80s revival, but not everything has the quality of Zoot Woman. Scientific, for instance: not a bad band, but not special either. 80s-influenced pop-rock, short compact songs, not too difficult, sometimes with a dissonant edge. Opening track 'Strain on My Heart' is not impressive and too predictable, but luckily most of the songs exceed the level of that song. Pixies are an obvious influence, which of course is not a bad thing. REM. come to mind as well. They have a few songs that are really something, like 'An Evening Perhaps' or 'You Wanted Blood', simply because those songs contain brilliant melodies. Too bad that not every song has such an edge; it would have made this album a lot better. And by the way, this album lasts only 29 minutes, so the title 'Full Length Album' is way out of place here.
