This is an old one. Some people might think that Slipknot's album 'Slipknot' is their first record. Well, it is their debut-album for Roadrunner Records, but in 1996 they already released an album, called 'Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat.'. What does that album offer you and does it differ a lot from their latest release on Roadrunner Records? 'Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat' (MFKR, for short) offers you a big variety of styles. While the one song is funky, the other may be some kind of death metal. There isn't really one style on this album, while their latest release just offers you 15 tracks in Slipknot-style. MFKR brings you 8 tracks, including early versions of 'Tattered & Torn', 'Only One' and '(Sic)' (on MFKR this song is called 'Slipknot'), which can all be found in different versions on their latest release. MFKR isn't a 'must-have', but it's a cool collector's item and it's nice to see how the 'early Slipknot' (6 band members) have developed to the 'nowadays Slipknot' (9 band members).
