It's already been eleven years since Snapcase was stamped out of the ground, and, yes, they're still standing on both legs, albeit not without plenty of lineups passing by. And so, they've released their newest album, titled End Transmission. Over the years things have changed, except for the fact that Daryl (lead singer) is still recognizably present with his yelling voice. In comparison with previous releases Comatose, Lookingglasself, Progress Through Unlearning, and Designs For Automation, this new album is not as fully aggressive, and it's built on a more structured foundation. End Transmission sounds a bit mystic in its way, which makes it appear as if Snapcase is either getting more relaxed, or maybe it's just that they can't keep up with a continuous heavy noise. But its allover softer sound is really a must. The album is packed with dark rhythms in the breaks, followed by fast, heavy hardcore, like Snapcase's earlier work. A lot of new stuff is brought to you, including piano sounds and distorted vocals, that makes End Transmission a comprehensive album. It even reminded me of old Fugazi. Hopefully, this one is not the last thing Snapcase is going to transmit.
