With a hand held above the head and guided by their own spirit they'd managed to create an original sound. Heaven and hell have been merged into one spiritual intermediate. Obviously I'm talking about The Spirit That Guides Us. A heavenly emotional rhythm and aggressive flames from hell are mixed together on their latest release 'The Sand, The Barrier'. This album lasts for about forty-six minutes and drags you into a world full of emotional hardcore sounds. The vocals as well as the music vary from soft to real scream-core within the eleven songs. 'The Spirit Anthem' is a perfect example of such a fusion. Besides the usual rock instruments also organs and accordion contribute to this bizarre musical mixture. Another major element on the album is The Spirit That Guides Us' affinity for small psychological messages in a creepy atmosphere. It's like you're in the middle of a story when listening to this album. That's also what makes 'The Sand, The Barrier' an extraordinary album. The Spirit That Guides Us describes itself as one front in which the music is at the centre and in which there is room for a changeable assembly. There is no doubt about that.
