Wow! Boy, am I taken by surprise by this debut-album from Dutch metalcrew Dimension Seven. '10 Ways to Hate' turns out to be a total assault of 10 heavy, modern metalsongs. Fortunately, with this album the band has succeeded in not becoming a 'nu-metal clone' or something, a label they received in the past various times. They've found their own ways, aversive to all trends. The album starts with 'No. 1', a heavy and boiling song. After this attack, the song 'Fight! Shoot! Kill' is offered, which grabs you by your throat and won't let you go until the end of the song. Through the rest of the album you can feel vocalist Joke's anger and frustration, like in 'Immune', 'Fail U R' and 'Click it'. The riffs of guitarist 474C44, the basslines of bassplayer P and the heavy beats of drummer Spooky make the sound complete. The album was recorded at Oscar Holleman's RS-29 studio, and the man himself mixed and produced it. I think you can say that you won't find a phatter Dutch production anywhere. I've watched this band live a few times now, and I can assure that live Dimension Seven has to offer at least the same as on this album. This is just one of the better metalalbums of the last time. Sepultura, you better watch your backs!
