It is not only from mother label Siesta itself that the San Diego raiders are conquering the floors of this globe. The ever trendsetting Scottish Soma label, with their trained ear for what's happening in the techno and house arenas, have quickly grasped the growing importance of this dark, yet sexy tech-house sound. A collaboration between Hipp-e and Tony Hewitt, we are (over)indulged with two red hot tracks dressed-up in full-attack mode, laden with dark tribal drums and their trademark - overly cool - basslines. The A-side 'Riddem Control' is the more dark and heavy - but strangily, also slightly discoid - groove of the two, while the flip 'Da Warrior' benefits mainly from its somewhat deeper and more relaxed character topped with a stoned ragga vocal. First-rate dancefloor fodder!
