A really catchy band name, don't you think? Well, at least it covers their sound. They are into "space", so to speak. No "rock" behind the "space", for this is a softly floating record with echoes of traditional blues and jazz on one side and English psychedelic shoegazer pop on the other. Think Spiritualized or the Flaming Lips. The end result is nice, but not downright impressive. I know this music isn't the right place for finding catchy songs, but one may expect some melodies that aren't immediately forgotten after hearing them. And unfortunately, that is mostly the case here. As a result, this record doesn't put you in space as it was intended to do, but it leaves you somewhere between the earth and the moon with no chance of ever reaching such heights. And when you fall back to earth, you realise that this fairly pretentious airplane (I wouldn't dare to call it spaceship.) doesn't live up to the expectations it created itself with such a name. It just doesn't leave a lasting impression at all, not even for a minute. Not exactly hyperspace.
