The first thing you'll notice about this mini-album when you pop it into your CD player is that it's very, very low. Not just bass-heavy, but dependent on a thundering foundation of sub-bass that makes this disc rather unlistenable if you don't play it on a stereo that can handle these exceptionally low tones. Assuming, however, that you manage to take this hurdle (which shouldn't be too difficult), you'll find six intensely dark and atmospheric tracks reminiscent of Sturm's legendary 'Sturmgesten' album, but far more varied in scope and much less dance-oriented. Thick reverbs give the sounds an unsettling, sombre quality and make what are essentially elements taken from the standard experimental techno toolkit sound new and exciting. If you like your music to be dark and moody (if, for instance, the words "Coil" or "Front Line Assembly" don't make you vomit), you'd be well advised to check out 'Silencer'.
