Being in an American band that sounds English can't be easy with America's obsession for post-grunge. The thing with Trinket is that while the music sounds English, the vocals still sound American, sometimes even a bit like R.E.M. The lyrics are about fashion and coolness(sample lyric:"You were so cute at the photoshoot"), it's a bit like Bret Easton Ellis' novel Glamorama put to music, though I can't say that's a bad thing. Best part of their album, though, are the last couple of songs. Slower and more emotional than the majority of the album, and somehow less obsessed with 'hip-talk'. If they could continue on this more personal road, great things may await them.
